Cleveland HiBORE XLi Irons

If you love hitting hybrids, well then this Is your perfect set of clubs. These clubs have a seamless tansition from the long Irons, becoming more compact to the short Irons, but still maintaining the hybrid benfits and looks. These clubs are what Is known as super game-improvement Irons.  Cleveland has made a vast Improvement from the predecessor of these clubs, making them more sleeker at address. I’ve never been a big fan of hybrids and I’m still not but these clubs do hit the ball crisp. These clubs provide a sweet sound and feel. I do like how the club head glides through the turf. This club would benefit many weekend hackers. I’m very impressed at the number of stock shaft options. Very rare for super game improvement Irons.

Not the most cheapest of clubs out on the market, at a street price of $145/steel, $159/graphite. Not sure If the average weekend hacker would be prepared to pay the money for these clubs. Im still coming to terms with the concept of a hybrid sand wedge. I’m really struggling to find any benfits of this, I can only see it as a hinderance. If anybody uses the hybrid sand wedge of these clubs, please leave a comment, I would be very interested to read your views.

Cleveland CG Red Irons

I love the soft feel of these clubs. The Gelback matertial situated behind the hitting area dampens the unwanted vibration on mis-hits. The good thing about this Is that It provides a soft feel but It also doesn’t fully mask all of the vibration. This enables you to gain feedback from the club which Is Ideal, especially for mid to low handicappers which this club Is targeted at. I like the looks of this club as well. I feel that It Is important for clubs not to just play well but also to look fantastic. I like the thinish topline of these clubs. They look appealing. Workability of the club Is important with these types of irons and I feel this club does enable you to work the ball around. These are easy to launch as well. I’m not a big fan of the degree lofts on these clubs. Personally, i prefer the 9 irons to be at 40 degree loft but these are at 42 degree. Thats the only fault I could find about these clubs.

Wilson Staff Di9 Irons

I was suprised by these Irons. I’m not generally a big fan of any wilson products but these Irons aren’t bad. They look good and they play good. I found these really easy to hit and they were fairly acurate. Distance wise these clubs played great too. I was a bit suprised by the playability of these irons. I didnt expect to be able to work the ball around accuratly with these but I was pleasently surprised. These Irons are a great bargain. For a similar type of iron, you would have to pay an extra $15 extra per iron.

Not a big fan of the consistent 3.5 degree lofting strategy between clubs. It’s good in theory but I found that my distances wern’t quite as consistent but once you gauge your distances, they’re fine.

Ping Rapture V2 Irons

Maybe Im a bit old-school but I hate huge cavity, mega-oversized golf clubs which these clubs are. However, they are easy too launch up off the ground. What Ping have done Is made there Irons at a stronger degree of loft than what convenional Irons have. As they are easy to launch, more distance can be added to the club with a higher launch angle than normal. These are a very forgiving Iron as well.  The price of these Irons seems unreasonable. MSRP: $165 for the steel shafts seems way to expensive for these Irons. MSRP: $195 for graphite shafts is in the same boat. Money wasted buying these clubs. There are better Irons out there for a cheaper price.

Cobra FP 08 Irons

These clubs have found a balance between forgiveness and playability. Isnt that what every golfer is looking after??? Enough said. These clubs are great for the aspiring golfer, looking to shave off a few shots of the handicap. The urethane Insert provides great feel. These clubs tend to hit the ball long and straight. These clubs are easy to play where-ever on the course, whether that be a tight lie or a fairway bunker.

The manufacturers have stuffed up this product however. The FP 08 Irons are only available from a 4-GW. I dont have a 3 iron in my current set of taylormade r7’s but im about to buy myself one as personally, they are easier to hit than the hybrids. A 3 iron is a handy club which most skilled golfers have In their bag. For the target market of these irons, they should include the 3 iron In the set. The wedges like most other wedges In an iron set are unplayable and are the most ugliest of things. I would advise In not getting the wedges In this set and buying a tour blade wedge, such as a Titleist Spin Milled Vokey wedge or a Cleveland CG14 wedge. These are easier to use and will provide better results, something you want from a scoring club, close to the green.

Taylormade r7 irons

These Irons are the best Irons I have played. They are currently In my bag. These are the ultimate game improvement Irons. The r7 Irons are easy to hit, with Its large sweet spot. The golf ball flies high and long, which makes It easy to attack tight pin placements. I love the look at address. These clubs have great feel and balance.

The light, 90 gram shaft makes It easy to gain club head speed, which results In booming distance. These clubs also enable you to work the ball around the golf course with ease. Any shot around the golf course has been made possible with these clubs. I have a lot of confidence when I use these clubs, to hit any shot that is required.

Taylormade r7 CGB Max irons

These clubs practically swing themselves. They do the work for you. These clubs are forgiving too. No matter where I hit the ball on the club face, the ball manages to go down the fairway. The extra Inbuilt weights on the heel and toe of the club helps create moment of Inertia which has resulted In straight shots, down the fairway. These clubs are easy to launch of the ground as well.

I don’t like the large offset on these clubs, and these clubs do not allow you to work the ball. These clubs a great for the 18+ handicapper.
